Nestled in the heart of Louisville, The Olmsted is perfect for couples wanting an elevated experience with versatile event spaces
Their day was elegant, intentional, deeply personal, and filled with the kind of joy that reminds you what weddings are truly about.

Why Couples Love The Olmsted Wedding Venue in Louisville, Kentucky
The Olmsted is a favorite as far as wedding venues in Louisville for couples who want a refined wedding aesthetic without sacrificing warmth or personality. The venue blends clean architectural lines with classic details, making it incredibly versatile for a wide range of wedding styles.
For Lindsay and David, the venue was the perfect setting for their “classic meets modern” vision. Their design leaned heavily into timeless black and white details accented by lush green sculptural florals created by Jamie Fairman Floral Design. The result felt editorial yet welcoming: a wedding design that looked stunning in photographs while still feeling effortless and authentic to them.
One of the best things about weddings at The Olmsted is how beautifully the space transforms depending on each couple’s vision. Whether you’re dreaming of a minimalist candlelit reception, a colorful garden-inspired celebration, or a sleek modern black tie wedding like Lindsay and David’s, the venue photographs beautifully in every season.

A Love Story That Started With Friendship
Lindsay and David first met while working on a political campaign in 2019. What began as instant friendship quickly grew into something much deeper.
Despite spending much of the campaign working halfway across the state from one another, they stayed connected through long messages, late night phone calls, and a growing realization that what they had was special.
After the campaign wrapped successfully later that year, they officially began dating.
Over the years, they navigated a pandemic, graduate school, long distance, and eventually a move to Chicago together in 2023 — building a relationship rooted in partnership, trust, and genuine friendship.

Their Chicago Engagement Story
David proposed on their fifth anniversary during one of their favorite shared hobbies: birdwatching along Lake Michigan.
On a chilly November morning, the two headed to Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary with binoculars in hand before spending the afternoon exploring the Chicago Art Institute together.
As they rounded the corner into the sanctuary, Lindsay immediately knew something was different.
David had secretly hired a photographer to document the proposal, and after the excitement settled, the two spent the morning walking hand in hand along the waterfront, celebrating privately before sharing the news with family and friends.

Lindsay and David’s wedding aesthetic centered around clean lines, intentional details, and timeless styling.
The black and white palette paired beautifully with green floral installations, giving the entire day a modern editorial feel while still feeling warm and inviting.
Lindsay wore a stunning Georgia Young Couture gown from Honey Bridal in Chicago — effortlessly modern and fashion-forward while remaining timeless. David complemented the overall aesthetic perfectly in a sleek black tux from The Black Tux.
The sculptural florals by Jamie Fairman Floral Design elevated every part of the venue, proving once again why floral design can completely transform a wedding space.
Combined with the refined interiors at The Olmsted, every corner of the day felt polished and intentional.
